A downloadable game

This is very much a work-in-progress prototype of a hybrid deck builder/space combat simulator.

Please be aware that as this prototype isn't released I haven't fully credited others work (for the preview picture assets, a lot of which come from google). Please forgive me - I will replace them.

How to play:

Play cards to spawn ships with different equipment load outs, and defend your mothership at all costs.

  • Left/Right: Change selected card in the hand.
  • Up: Ready a card for deployment. Deploying a card costs resources, which are indicated by icons at the top of the card.
  • Down: Burn a card, removing it from the game in exchange for resources. The amount of resources is shown at the bottom of the picture.
  • Enter: Deploy the ships that are currently being prepared.
  • +/-: Increase or decrease the game speed. You can use it to make things harder for yourself. Space pauses time.

Other info:

  • You fail if the mothership is destroyed. For now it doesn't really do anything apart from show you some very hurtful and demotivating text.
  • Deploying ships takes time, shown by a timer effect on the deck.
  • There are two types of cards: summon which spawn ships and modifiers which change their equipment.
  • For summon cards, the symbols in the bottom right show what hookpoints are available, and the number in the bottom left is the number spawned.
  • For modifier cards, the symbols show a kind of short-hand representation of what the cards will do (e.g. hookpoint (circle) replaced with (arrow) a shield (blue shield).
  • It's not particularly difficult to play right now, as there aren't many enemies and the waves are pretty predictable. It's just to show the mechanics off
  • This is a prototype. Some card preview images were taken from google, and will be replaced as soon as I can generate suitable art.
